First Cafe Concert
This event was a great success. An audience of around forty enjoyed coffee and cake while they listened to WAMO perform a varied program. After the concert a few people stayed on to enjoy dinner at the restaurant. We look forward to our next in the series of Cafe Concerts to be held in August.

The orchestra rehearsed for the first time for 2016. Robert Schulz conducted and we played through our book launch program. The rehearsal went very well, I think we were all pleased. Please check out the book launch poster for dates and contact numbers. Elizabeth Neeson

For the last few months a number of orchestra members led by Mr Geoff Barber have been compiling a detailed history of The West Australian Mandolin Orchestra, including past / present members, conductors, overseas tours, FAME events and much more. This book will be completed in time for the orchestra's fortieth anniversary concert in March 2016. It will be available on order for an approximate cost of around $40 Australian dollars. On the Wednesday after any concert the orchestra holds a 'players night' instead of the usual rehearsal. This is to sight read and play new music or revisit some of the older scores from the library. It is also a chance for members to play a solo or duet in an informal setting. This is also a social occasion with the orchestra members having a drink together afterwards.

Our first rehearsal took place last Wednesday, 4th Feb and now we are preparing for our concert on March 28th in Mukinbudin. See our calendar of events for details. It was great to see almost everyone back on board ready for our first rehearsal of the year!
